Justice is not only about the decisions made in court; it also involves how individuals are treated throughout the process. Victims, defendants, families, and the public all deserve a journey that is clear, respectful, and fair. This includes attentive listening, realistic timelines, and straightforward communication. If the court fails to treat people with dignity, then it cannot truly deliver justice.

Our justice system should serve as a great equalizer and money shouldn’t dictate who gets equal justice under the law. In my courtroom, I will work to ensure that truth prevails, not status or wealth. I am running to change this not just in theory, but in practice, for real people, every single day.

A commitment to service has shaped my life. I have served as an Air Force intelligence analyst, a veterans’ advocate, and a courtroom litigator. I have worked to expose fraud, remove ineffective officials, and protect the public from bad actors. I took these actions because they were the right thing to do, and I am running to continue standing up for people.

The old system, where power in the courthouse is exchanged behind closed doors, has failed the people it is meant to serve. I have never been part of that machine; instead, I have pushed back against it. Leadership isn’t something you inherit; it’s something you earn through integrity and service. I am not here to follow the old rules that benefit a few; I am here to change them for the benefit of us all.

A just system does not discard individuals. I champion restorative justice and robust support for an expansion of diversion courts in Hays County—courts specifically designed to provide individuals with an opportunity to acknowledge their mistakes, make amends, and move forward. Just as you guide your children with compassion and accountability, our courts should offer paths to rehabilitation rather than solely focusing on punishment.

Democracy doesn’t operate on autopilot. It demands vigilance, integrity, and everyday acts of courage. This includes having ethical courts, honest leadership, and a fairly applied rule of law. I have always been willing to speak out when rules are broken, or power is misused. As a judge, I will bring that same courage to the bench because, without trustworthy justice, democracy stands little chance.
